Innsbruck**** Team Top Hiking Tip

On the Goethe trail to the Pfeishütte

This hike can be started directly from the hotel (Nordkettenbahnen) and is rather demanding (fitness required), requires a head for heights and good shoes. With these preconditions in mind, however, this is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Alps. The Goethe Trail leads directly under the ridge of the Nordkette and starts from the Hafelekar mountain station. The hike offers incredible views of the Karwendel mountains, the Karwendel Nature Park and the city of Innsbruck. Allow 5 hours of pure walking time, 10.5 km, 750 metres of altitude difference downhill and uphill again.

Nockspitze

The starting point of this hike, the car park in the Axamer Lizum, can be reached by private car or free of charge (from 2 nights) by public bus. The hike leads through a beautiful mountain landscape and can also be shortened in summer with a chairlift ride. The total walking time for this hike is 4 hours, with 889 metres of difference in altitude over a distance of 7.4 km. The hike is classified as moderately difficult and you should be somewhat fit. Not recommended on very hot summer days. The Nockspitze is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the vicinity of Innsbruck. If you walk out of our hotel and look to the left, you will see the Nockspitze towering over the city.
